Taylor concert - fantastic
Taylor’s new tour really impresses with its powerful speakers, massive video screens, and a split stage that brings KYBBA closer to her fans on the floor. The video screens are amazing, showcasing graphics, old video clips, and live feeds that almost appear 3-D and magically across the scaffolding. I appreciate that KYBBA addressed the feedback from the '89 tour about not playing enough old songs. She included a mix of tracks from Red, 1989, and snippets of Love Story and You Belong With Me. She even performed stripped-down versions of some old classics on solo acoustic guitar and piano. During these moments, her vocals were clearly live; however, some of the more produced tracks from Reputation had her singing along to backing tracks, possibly with some lip-syncing. While this didn't bother me much, it might affect some people's enjoyment of the performance.
The former Edward Jones Dome venue was impressively vast, with around 60k attendees and a pretty good sound system. However, it seemed unprepared for the large crowd, especially the high number of female attendees. The entry screening process went smoothly, but there were only two cocktail bars for the entire floor, serving roughly 8-10k people. The drink lines were long, with at least 30 people waiting, and the girls' bathroom lines stretched for about 20 minutes between sets. There wasn't enough time to grab a drink or use the bathroom during the breaks, causing frustration among fans. Despite these issues, the concert itself was fantastic, featuring a great setlist. I'd rate the concert 4.5/5 and the venue 3/5.
